The following resources are available for making digital materials more accessible:
SensusAccess is a tool that converts documents into a range of alternative formats including digital Braille, MP3, DAISY and e-books. The service can also be used to convert otherwise inaccessible documents such as image-only PDF files or scanned images into more accessible formats.
Kaltura captioning services will automatically generate captions for any audio or video file. You can then edit the captions for additional accuracy.
Notes on terminology: Closed captions are detailed texts that optionally display along with a video. Subtitles are similar, but they are foreign language translations of the dialog only. A transcript is a downloadable or scrollable version of the closed captions sequence that sometimes appears alongside a video while playing.
